Natali Ardianto

Natali Ardianto (born 25 December 1980, Jakarta) is an Indonesian entrepreneur, technologist and author. He is best known as a co-founder and the former chief technology officer of Tiket.com, and as the co-founder and chief executive of Lifepack.id, Indonesia's first modern digital pharmacy.

Early life and education

He grew up in Jakarta and attended SMA Negeri 8 Jakarta. He studied computer science at Universitas Indonesia, taking his S.Kom. in 2004 and his Magister Teknologi Informasi in 2007. In 2018 he completed the Data Science and Analytics executive programme at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Career

Natali started out building websites for advertising agencies in 2001, first at Infocus Advertising and later at Evolver Industries and SemutApi Colony, where his clients included Djarum, Kalbe and Microsoft. Thirty-four of those early sites are collected in the work gallery.

His first company was Urbanesia, a city directory for Jakarta founded in 2008 and acquired by Kompas Gramedia in 2012. After a short-lived golf booking venture, Golfnesia, he co-founded Tiket.com in 2011 and ran its engineering for six and a half years. The platform reached USD 1 billion in gross merchandise value between 2012 and 2017 and was acquired by Blibli, part of Djarum Group, in 2017.

In 2018 he was co-founder and CTO of Pluang, a licensed commodity-trading fintech, before founding Lifepack in 2019.

Community and investing

In 2010 he initiated #StartupLokal, which has held monthly meetups ever since and is now the largest startup community in Indonesia. Through PT StartupLokal, which he runs with his wife Nuniek Tirta, he has angel-invested in 17 companies since 2012, from telemedicine and logistics to the films Keluarga Cemara and Kulari ke Pantai.

Speaking and writing

He speaks on scaling engineering on a lean budget, on going from zero to a billion, and on what Southeast Asian investors look for between seed and Series A. His book, In the Mind of Natali Ardianto, was published by Metagraf in 2016. His blog is at natali.id.

Recognition

He was named the Most Intelligent CIO at the iCIO Awards 2015, Best CIO and Best IT System at the e-Corp Awards 2015, and appeared on Tatler's Generation T and Prestige's 40 under 40 lists in 2017.
