Natali Ardianto

I'm Natali Ardianto, born in Jakarta on 25 December 1980. I'm an entrepreneur, a technologist and an author. Most people know me as a co-founder and the former chief technology officer of Tiket.com, and as the co-founder and CEO of Lifepack.id, Indonesia's first modern digital pharmacy.

Early life and education

I grew up in Jakarta and went to SMA Negeri 8 Jakarta. I studied computer science at Universitas Indonesia, finishing my S.Kom. in 2004 and my Magister Teknologi Informasi in 2007. In 2018 I completed the Data Science and Analytics executive programme at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Career

I started out in 2001 building websites for advertising agencies, first at Infocus Advertising and later at Evolver Industries and SemutApi Colony. My clients included Djarum, Kalbe and Microsoft. Twenty-five of those early sites are in my work gallery.

My first company was Urbanesia, a city directory for Jakarta that I co-founded in 2008. Kompas Gramedia acquired it in 2012. After a short-lived golf booking venture, Golfnesia, I co-founded Tiket.com in 2011 and ran its engineering for six and a half years. The platform reached USD 1 billion in gross merchandise value between 2012 and 2017, and Blibli, part of Djarum Group, acquired it in 2017.

In 2018 I was co-founder and CTO of Pluang, a licensed commodity-trading fintech. Then I founded Lifepack in 2019.

Community and investing

In 2010 I started #StartupLokal. It has held a meetup every month since, and today it's the largest startup community in Indonesia. Through PT StartupLokal, which I run with my wife, Nuniek Tirta, I've angel-invested in 17 companies since 2012, from telemedicine and logistics to the films Keluarga Cemara and Kulari ke Pantai.

Speaking and writing

I speak about scaling engineering on a lean budget, about going from zero to a billion, and about what Southeast Asian investors look for between seed and Series A. My book, In the Mind of Natali Ardianto, came out from Metagraf in 2016. I blog at natali.id.

Recognition

I was named the Most Intelligent CIO at the iCIO Awards 2015 and Best CIO at the e-Corp Awards 2015, where Tiket.com also won Best IT System. In 2017 I made Tatler's Generation T and Prestige's 40 under 40 lists. Tiket.com won first place at GIST Tech-I in Dubai and at the ASEAN ICT Awards in 2012.
